Born and raised in Rome, Italy Mattia began engaging in fine arts at a young age . Having been influenced by the imperialistic art and Italian culture, he emulates his work around “the ethernal “ city. Swapping marble for skin, Mattia Bretti brings a Michelangelo style of art to the 21st century. Influences such as Caravaggio can be seen in his pieces; using 'chiaroscuro' technique strongly contrasting light and shadow; this brings a dramatic sense of depth, realism, and emotional intensity to his work. Starting at 17, he’s done guest spots and conventions around the world before coming to the States. He launched his US career in New York and is now making his mark in Miami, where his distinctive style continues to evolve and attract attention.
